We're looking for a Parcel Solutions Engineer to join our team. In this customer-facing role, you'll draw upon your technical and operational background to effectively extract customer needs, craft innovative solutions for key pain points, and clearly communicate value propositions through presentations and demonstrations. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing tailored technical and operational solutions for parcel delivery and logistics operations. Your expertise will ensure the seamless integration of technology and business processes, optimizing everything from network design and parcel handling to distribution, tracking, and final-mile logistics.

What You'll Do:

As a Solutions Engineer specializing in Parcel Logistics, you'll be a pivotal player in our sales cycle, transforming complex client needs into elegant, practical solutions. Here’s how you'll make an impact:

  • Collaborate Strategically: Partner closely with Account Executives throughout the sales journey, from initial RFP responses and deep-dive discovery sessions to pricing, internal approvals, and compelling presentations.

  • Uncover Requirements: Conduct thorough discovery sessions with prospective clients to meticulously gather and document technical requirements for integrating with and utilizing Stord Parcel.

  • Optimize & Innovate: Analyze clients' current parcel configurations and operational needs, identifying clear opportunities for significant improvement and optimization.

  • Design & Document Solutions: Develop comprehensive financial models and pricing proposals, alongside detailed technical documentation like process flows and architecture diagrams.

  • Scope & Plan: Work with Technical Program Managers to assess solution complexity and estimate high-level onboarding timelines.

  • Model & Simulate: Build sophisticated models for transportation and distribution networks, creating simulation tools to support various Stord teams in strategic decision-making.

  • Present & Persuade: Craft and deliver compelling solution proposals to both internal stakeholders and external clients.

  • Showcase Our Platform: Conduct dynamic demonstrations of the Stord software platform for prospective clients, highlighting its value and capabilities.

  • Ensure Seamless Handoffs: Coordinate with implementation and integration teams to clearly communicate solution requirements, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to customer delivery.

  • Influence Product Development: Stay informed about our product roadmap and vision, providing valuable input based on direct prospect feedback.

  • Drive Best Practices: Establish and champion best practices for documentation, processes, and coordination within the Sales Solutions team.

  • Empower the Sales Team: Lead training sessions for the broader sales team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth at Stord.

What You'll Need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Technology, or Business Administration is required.

  • Technology Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience with various supply chain (ERP, WMS, OMS, TMS) or e-commerce technology tools (e.g., Shopify, Cartrover, Shipium).

  • Parcel Logistics Expertise: 2+ years of dedicated experience in small parcel or final-mile logistics, coupled with a deep understanding of the parcel ecosystem, including carriers, services, and modes.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Advanced Excel skills.

    • Basic proficiency in SQL, Python, and database tools.

    • Proven experience conducting software demonstrations.

    • Familiarity with shipping platforms and systems.

    • Experience working with various API protocols (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and/or knowledge of parcel shipping methods as they relate to carrier connections and label production systems.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities; a logical and detail-oriented thinker.

  • Communication Prowess: Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to navigate complex technical and functional discussions with ease. You can articulate intricate solutions to diverse audiences and clearly communicate value propositions to customers.

  • Organizational Excellence: Highly organized and adept at managing multiple proposals simultaneously, each with varying requirements, priorities, and stakeholders.

  • Ownership Mentality: A strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Travel Readiness: Ability to travel as needed.

Bonus Points:

  • MBA with a focus on Supply Chain or Logistics.

  • Prior startup experience.

  • Previous pre-sales experience.

  • Experience with reporting and analytics platforms like DOMO or Salesforce.
