As our first Senior Data Engineer at Regard, you’ll be involved in all stages of building our next generation of data infrastructure. Your primary objective will be to develop high-quality data architecture solutions which will be used for customer analytics, product & engineering insights, and business intelligence. You will architect and build our data platform from the ground up, select tools, codify best practices, and lead and mentor others.

Responsibilities:

  • Build batch and real-time data pipelines to aggregate data from multiple source systems into a data warehouse
  • Establish new data warehousing architecture and collaborate with product to build out Regard’s source data models for usage in analytics, BI, and future data projects
  • Support existing BI and analytic tools (Metabase, etc) while transitioning toward a new architecture
  • Integrate architecture and tooling into automated infrastructure as code to enable automated build out of new data pipelines for new customers
  • Support analytics and BI customer product needs through modification of data warehouse schemas and ETL tooling as well as support in utilizing BI tooling
  • Support integration of BI tooling into analytics data warehouse
  • Build and support data pipelines through integration with monitoring and alerting systems and in providing operational support for those pipelines / ETLs

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, related data field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles building data pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience in public cloud provider technologies (AWS tooling such as Glue, Kinesis, DMS strongly preferred)
  • Expertise in SQL
  • Expertise in a programming language used for data engineering (Python preferred)
  • Experience with a business intelligence platform such as (Tableau, Looker, Metabase, Quicksight, etc)
  • Able to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on an enterprise SaaS technology product
  • Exposure to startup and/or high growth environments
  • Experience working with health technology
  • Experience supporting training of ML models
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Hybrid Work | Location | Work Authorization

  • For this role, Regard is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and are within the New York City metro area
  • We expect our Engineers to be in the office 1-2 days per week. We may request more frequent in-office work during the onboarding period
  • We will provide relocation assistance to anyone who does not already reside in the NYC metro area
  • We prefer hiring people within commuting distance of our NYC office because we value getting together in person regularly

  • Additionally, hybrid employees have the flexibility to work from locations outside of their home office from up to 6 weeks per year
