About the Role

We’re looking for Lead Product Designer to lead design for both Photon's patient experience and clinician-facing prescribing workflow. On the patient side, you’ll shape the prescription marketplace – a modern consumer experience that helps patients compare prices and offers, choose pharmacies. On the clinical side, you’ll design tools that streamline how providers write, send, and manage prescriptions—making the process more efficient, intuitive and transparent for everyone.

You’ll own the end-to-end design process for these high-impact products, crafting intuitive, scalable, and delightful experiences across both audiences. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of healthcare, enterprise and consumer tech, where design decisions directly influence how patients access affordable care and how clinicians deliver it.

What You’ll Do

Lead design across Photon’s core products – our prescribing platform and patient experience marketplace.
Create high-quality, user-centered designs that balance usability, scalability, and business goals.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate complex healthcare flows into simple, intuitive experiences.
Own the full design lifecycle: discovery, user research, prototyping, testing, iteration, and delivery.
Champion design best practices and foster a culture of collaboration and feedback across teams.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in product design with a track record of leading design on complex, high-stakes initiatives.
You’re a craft leader and problem solver with the ability to think at both the high level vision and execution focussed design details.
You’re a strong collaborator, with experience pairing closely with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders across the business.
Experience running user research and testing to guide product direction.
Comfortable iterating quickly, making data-informed trade-offs, and adapting to ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in healthcare, fintech, SaaS, or other complex/high-stakes industries
Familiarity with pharmacy or healthcare workflows (nice-to-have, not required)
Experience working in early or growth-stage startup environments, with comfort navigating ambiguity and building from scratch
Experience collaborating on clinical or marketplace products with cross-functional teams

Compensation

Competitive base salary $165-190k USD.
