About The Role

As a senior credit risk manager, you will be responsible for monitoring, forecasting, and overall performance of our credit portfolio. This role will work directly with Data, Engineering, Finance, and Product, and will report to our CTO / co-founder.

We are looking for someone with strong data chops, a risk mindset, and clarity of thought. You should also be a seasoned consumer credit professional, with a proven ability to manage a large, profitable portfolio.

This role is in-office in Mexico City or New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement a system of performance monitors and early warnings
  • Develop and maintain a credit loss forecasting model
  • Advise the Data Science team on the ML models that drive approval decisions and line management
  • Update Nelo’s risk policies and monitoring as Nelo launches new products and geographies
  • Monitor macroeconomic trends impacting loan performance and make recommendations for related policy changes

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of credit risk experience
  • 2+ years of consumer credit experience required
  • Proven ability to manage a consumer credit portfolio
  • SQL required
  • Deep understanding of statistics
  • Demonstrated ability to drive impact through analysis

  • Machine learning experience
  • Experience working with credit risk in LATAM
