About Mux
Mux is video for developers. Our mission is to democratize video by solving the hard problems developers face when building video: video encoding and streaming (Mux Video), video monitoring (Mux Data), and more. Video is a huge part of people’s lives, and we want to help make it better.
We’re committed to building a healthy team that welcomes diverse backgrounds and experiences. We want people who care about our mission, are ready to grow, believe in our values (from Be Human to Turn Customers Into Fans), and want to improve the people around them.
You’ll join a tight-knit team with experience at places like Google, YouTube, Twitch, Reddit, Zencoder, Fastly, and more. Our founders previously started (and sold) Zencoder, an early leader in cloud video technology, and authored Video.js, the biggest HTML5 video player on the web. We organize Demuxed, the premier conference for video engineers in the world.
We’re backed by top investors like Coatue, Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, and Y Combinator. You’ll get to work with amazing companies: hundreds of startups, plus Strava, Patreon, Vimeo, Robinhood, PBS, and Equinox. Customers, large and small, love working with us and love our team.
We are building something big together. We’d love to hear from you!
About the Role
As our Senior Account Manager, you will be the primary owner and driver of retention and expansion within our Key Enterprise Video customers. You will build a deep technical understanding of our products and existing customer use cases. You will create and manage relationships with our customer base, specifically executive and technical leadership.
You will drive optimal retention of the customer base. You will deepen executive relationships within our most strategic customers to ensure a) we are meeting their current technical needs and b) we understand the growth objectives of their business to ensure we are most optimally supporting. You are excited to jump into something challenging, highly technical, fast paced, and with a lot of room to grow.
This is a key role handling Mux’s most strategic customers, and requires a significant level of creativity, experimentation, and resilience. Tenacity and strong business acumen are a must.
What You’ll Do
Drive Net Revenue Retention across the global Mux Video customer base. Thoughtfully build a retention and expansion strategy for each account. Leverage executive relationships, investors, field events, and your own personal travel and relationships, to establish the right connections within customer’s organization. You will be the primary voice and advocate for our top customers, like Patreon, Substack, Airbnb, and Synthesia.
Drive a culture of customer excellence. Tenaciously bring value to established customers by understanding how video can help unlock their business goals.
Leverage a team of experienced technical professionals. Partner closely with Customer Success Managers and Solution Architects to leverage existing relationships and best practices and find ways to optimize impact. We have excellent technical coverage of the base, we must amplify that and use it to unlock the right business growth opportunities.
Be a loud advocate for your customer base, both in what they need from our Product org to retain and grow and what they need from our Execs and Operations teams to satisfy their internal growth requirements.
Who You Are
5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience (in a closing role) with direct experience expanding and renewing customers.
Solid experience selling Cloud infrastructure to software and tech companies with strong land-and-expand motions.
Proven aptitude to learn a complicated process or system (our product is very technical, you must want to learn it and have an ability to apply that technical knowledge in a commercial setting).
Self starter with a proven track record of both creatively solving problems and exceeding sales targets.
Driven to perfect a customer engagement cycle. Excited to harness the energy of a base with very ‘startup energy’ and leverage our own startup energy.
Takes extreme ownership. Wants to be the single point of responsibility, empowered to leverage a deeply talented team to support customer needs.
