About the role

As the Director of Human Resources, you’ll oversee a high-performing HR team, own the design and execution of scalable HR processes, and serve as a key partner to leadership across the business. You’ll continue to shape a best-in-class employee experience that supports engagement, performance, and long-term growth, all while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

You’ll be responsible for evolving our HR strategy, systems, and programs to support Medallion’s continued scale. As a key voice for the HR function, you’ll help drive initiatives that attract, retain, and develop top talent, while empowering your team with the tools, structure, and support they need to thrive.

This role, which reports to the VP of Legal, includes equity, a performance-based bonus, and comprehensive benefits as part of Medallion’s total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.

What you'll do

HR Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and thoughtfully scale our high-performing HR team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Oversee all core HR functions including total rewards, performance management, employee relations, L&D, DEI, compliance, and benefits.
  • Evolve and scale HR systems, processes, and policies to support Medallion’s growth.
  • Manage HR budgets, tools, and HRIS systems to ensure efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and advocate for People and Culture across the organization, partnering closely with senior leadership.

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, belonging, and retention.
  • Continue to evolve our performance optimization and management toolbox
  • Ensure a seamless employee experience throughout the full lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Anticipate and manage the impact of business changes, including communications and change management efforts.

Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations; proactively update policies as needed.
  • Partner with the CEO, General Counsel and senior leaders to evolve and reinforce company culture, values, and mission.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with department leaders on workforce planning, org design, performance optimization and people strategy.

Qualifications

  • Have 7+ years of experience working in human resources at a SaaS startup
  • Have 5+ years of experience directly managing human resources or people operations teams
  • Bring extensive experience managing total rewards including compensation, equity, and perks & benefits
  • Possess a working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, DEI, performance management, and federal and state employment laws
  • Have had demonstrated success translating organizational and business priorities into people initiatives
  • Are a critical thinker and creative problem-solver who is willing to re-think the way things have previously been done
  • Have extensive experience managing cross functional partnerships with key stakeholders including executives and leadership team members
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to create and execute programs that develop and retain outstanding talent
  • Bring a high level of initiative and adaptability, and are able to pivot quickly in response to changing business needs
  • Have experience drafting and managing comms with executive stakeholders for major company lifecycle events
  • Use benchmarking, research, and data to support HR initiatives
