About the Role

Product Design at Medallion plays a critical role in simplifying and unifying healthcare provider operations. We transform complex processes into intuitive flows for providers, build easy-to-use tools for admins, and empower our team with research to better understand specific pain points. We believe our design work is helping shape the future of administrative work.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our growing team. You will report into the Head of Design and focus on a specific product vertical on our platform. A key part of your responsibilities will be partnering cross-functionally to develop the strategy and scope of your product space, including features focused on automation and AI. In addition to your project work, you’ll play an important role in cultivating our team culture as we grow.

The ideal candidate has deep empathy for people, a passion for simplifying complex problems, and an action-oriented mentality.

Base compensation for this role is between $155,000–$185,000 depending on location and level. In addition to base salary, Medallion offers equity and benefits as part of the total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.

What you’ll do

• You will help lead the strategy and design for one of our product areas, ensuring that your work aligns with business goals

• You will develop hypotheses and suggest specific research projects to help teams better understand our audience

• You will carry out excellent design fundamentals, using visual principles to improve the polish for the product

• You will build interaction flows and diagrams to simplify complex information with thoughtful information architecture, illustrating multiple user journeys

• You will demonstrate a consistent, effective design process that helps with the efficiency of your work as well as the larger team

• You will synthesize different stakeholder inputs and technical constraints to build and present human-centered narratives

• You will communicate well with partners and team members, sharing broadly to respond in a timely manner

• You will be a key collaborator, assisting and supporting others in an inclusive manner

• You will work across various constraints and issues, making decisions to help the team get results

• You will help cross-functional groups carve out a strong narrative, detailing how design plays a role in the larger vision

• You will support others around you, championing the company values with a positive outlook

• You will respond effectively and respectfully to various working conditions with a growth mindset

Qualifications

• You need 5–7+ years of professional design experience

• You need mastery in Figma and other applicable design software

• You need relevant experience with different design methods and techniques

• You need a résumé highlighting your education, employment history, and relevant skill set

• You need an online or PDF portfolio (please include any passwords)
