Who we are
Hallow is on a mission to help people pray. We’re the No. 1 prayer app in the world, with more than 1 billion prayers prayed across 150+ countries. We're building a product that is authentically Christian and Catholic, while at the same time a resource for anyone looking to grow deeper in a relationship with God. We believe that people are hungry for peace, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with Christ: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).
Our goal is to build something truly great. Something that combines the beauty of the Church's spirituality with world-class product and content execution. And we need a world-class team to make it happen.
We launched the app in December 2018 and have been blown away with the incredible growth & traction. Hallow has been downloaded more than 25 million times with over 250,000 5-star reviews. We're blessed to be backed by some of the best mission-driven investors in the world and are excited to build out the team to help a lot more folks grow closer to God.
We are a startup. We move quickly. We are small but we take big swings. Each person is responsible for making an impact. It is hard—but deeply meaningful—work. We'd be honored & humbled if you'd consider joining us.
TL;DR: We’re looking for a mission-driven, detail-oriented analyst to help us level up our financial operations and reporting. You’ll play a key role in building and delivering the reports and insights that guide decision-making across Hallow’s leadership team, while also keeping our internal controls and financial records sharp and audit-ready.

- Calculate and record journal entries for B2B revenue and associated commission payouts and expense
- Prepare and file sales tax and VAT/GST returns
- Support regular audits and maintain best-in-class internal controls
- Drive our Reporting
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and dashboards (P&L, budget vs. actuals, KPIs, etc.) that provide actionable insight into Hallow’s performance
- Build and maintain reporting packages for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Analyze trends, flag anomalies, and offer insights or potential root causes for variances
- Prepare recurring reports, including investor metrics, department headcount, and financials
- Maintain reporting integrity through GL/class/department mappings and cross-functional structure alignment
- Enable Strategic Analysis
- Support key cross-functional initiatives with data and insight (e.g., marketing ROI, team growth, international expansion)
- Collaborate with teams across Product, Marketing, Sales, B2B, and International to bring financial clarity to decision-making
- Deliver timely ad hoc reporting and custom analysis to leadership and department leads
- Improve Processes & Scale
- Identify and implement process improvements or automations to streamline reporting, reduce manual work, and improve accuracy
- Support system upgrades or tool enhancements in collaboration with the finance team
- Help build scalable systems as Hallow continues to grow
What You’ll Love
- Mission: This work is incredibly humbling. Everyday we hear amazing stories and we get the pleasure of working on something that’s impacting lives. One of our favorite user quotes: “I hate quoting an old, overused cliche, but I’ve been very lost. And I think for the first time in a while I may be found.”
- Ownership: You’ll be a key point person to ensure we perform the essential functions of an accounting and finance team - regular reporting and month-end close.
- Growth: You’ll get to journey with a VC-backed startup that is still growing extremely quickly. Every employee is a core team member who is expected to help build the company as a whole as we settle into a culture and continue to expand the team.
- Flexibility: We operate as a remote-first team with members all over the globe and are open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. for this position. We don’t care when or where you work, just that it gets done! That being said, our HQ is in Chicago and if in-person work is something you are interested in, we’d love to have you there!
- Comp: We will pay competitive market rates in terms of equity, cash, & benefits.
What We’re Looking For
- Passion: First and foremost, we’re looking for someone excited and passionate about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun to actually care about what you’re working on!
- Detail Oriented: In order to make key strategic decisions for the business, we to have 100% confidence in our data and reporting. You will be the lynchpin for this.
- Ownership Mindset: You’ll be on the front lines, dealing with all the data that drives our most important KPIs as a business. You’ll be as well placed as our CFO and CEO to see what is going on in the business and are looking for someone who gets excited about not only asking the question “is this right?” but also “what does this mean?”
- Organization: You will have a tremendous amount of ownership (with support) and autonomy. It will take an organized and disciplined person to make sure all the trains arrive on time.
- Flexibility: You’ll be managing various recurring tasks, ad-hoc requests, and larger projects. Your output will require creative thinking to solve complex problems, both finance and accounting prowess, and coordination among various teams.
- Experience: 2+ years experience in accounting, finance, and/or FP&A - preferably in a SaaS or startup environment. Should be familiar with Consumer and B2B SaaS KPIs, dashboards, and BI software. Tax experience a plus. Must have strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
- Grit: We’re a startup - fast-paced, resourceful, and mission-obsessed. You’ll need grit, ownership, and comfort with ambiguity as you help shape how finance works at Hallow. A start-up is tough and we really care about what we’re doing. You'll be jumping into a role in a fast moving organization - perseverance and the ability to make progress independently will be critical.
We're a small team and we care deeply about each new hire, so sometimes it can take us a while to get through the hiring process for these roles. Apologies in advance for any delays. We'll do our best to keep you updated throughout the process, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through everything.
We are honored that you'd consider joining the team and look forward to connecting with you.
Best,
Alex at Hallow
