About General Legal
We are the AI-native law firm for growth-stage startups that recently raised $12M from Y Combinator and other leading Silicon Valley VCs. We serve 250+ venture-backed companies on a flat-fee model, with attorneys working primarily over Slack. We were the first law firm to be hired by an AI agent, the first law firm on MCP, and one of just 7% of companies in the YC W26 batch that reached $1M in annualized revenue during the 2.5 month incubator period.
The Role
You'll own product marketing end-to-end as our first dedicated marketing hire. This is positioning, narrative, GEO/SEO dominance, public content, and competitive intel. You will work directly with the co-founders and have meaningful equity, real decision-making authority, and air cover to execute.
What You'll Do
- Own positioning and messaging across the firm, our website, and inbound channels
- Drive GEO (generative engine optimization) and SEO strategy
- Build sales enablement for our GTM team: pitch decks, competitive battle cards, case studies, ROI narratives
- Run competitive intelligence across our market peers
- Help research and roll out new practices and MCP channels
- Partner with the founders on PR, analyst relations, and conference strategy
You Probably Have
- 5+ years of B2B SaaS product marketing, ideally with early-stage startup experience
- A real GEO/SEO track record — ranking improvements, LLM citation wins, content that compounds
- Sharp written voice and the ability to ghostwrite
- Comfort selling to a technical, skeptical buyer (founders, CFOs, GCs)
- Legal tech, professional services, or fintech background is a plus, not required
Compensation & Benefits
- $160K – $190K base, calibrated to experience and location
- 0.30 – 0.50% equity
- Health, dental, vision; unlimited PTO; home office stipend
- Travel to NYC and SFO as needed for team offsites and client work
