The opportunity:

The Transload Operations team is the face of Flexport to some of our most important Warehouse and Carrier partners. Sitting between Flexport’s Ocean business and final mile transportation, the Transload team coordinates and executes the deconsolidation, organization, storage, and custom unloads of ocean containers before pricing and organizing the truckload leg of the shipment. The team works with Flexport Sales, Warehouse Partners, and Trucking Partners daily to make Transloading and Trucking cost effective, efficient, and easy for our customers.

This position is perfect for a supply chain professional early in their searching for experience in a fast growing logistics company spanning multiple modes of transportation.

You will:

  • Ensure a smooth transload operation on a truckload level by effectively coordinating with different parties:
  • Quickly resolve day-to-day exceptions flagged by our clients and partners and escalate them to the appropriate teams as needed.
  • Help maintain a high level of data integrity by ensuring schedules are up-to-date, required documents are uploaded on time, and shipment milestones are accurate.
  • Effectively manage and resolve messages across different platforms such as Gmail, Slack, and Flexport’s application.
  • React quickly when things go wrong or unique conditions are encountered. It’s logistics, things will go wrong. How we respond determines company success.
  • Push the business forward by being curious, asking questions, and thinking big. We look to you for the next process/product/offering that will be a game changer for Flexport.

You should have:

  • Recent college grads encouraged to apply
  • Bachelor's degree (or 4+ years in the military)
  • 0-3 years of operations or client facing experience; preferably in transportation
  • Great written, verbal and cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to self motivate, think creatively, problem solve and manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a collaborative, start-up environment with changing requirements and priorities.
  • Ability to make informed decisions using data
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and adopt best practices
