Edison Scientific builds and deploys AI scientist agents to accelerate science and the development of new medicines. We are an ambitious team run by scientists and engineers from leading institutions across biology, physics, chemistry, and AI.

About the Role

In order to help measure and improve our systems ability to accelerate discovery, we work with scientific experts to generate evaluation and training datasets in many areas. We are always looking for expert scientists in biology, chemistry or related disciplines to help us in these efforts.

These activities span various aspects of the research process, including information synthesis, hypothesis generation, and designing and interpreting experiments and data. You likely qualify if you:

• Have a PhD or are pursuing one in Biology or a related scientific field (other advanced degrees considered)

• Can devote 5+ hours per week to working with us.

• Have an interest in driving the acceleration of discovery forward using AI.

Responsibilities might include:

• Annotating or evaluating outputs from AI systems doing scientific work.

• Generating or reviewing tasks for evaluating AI systems carrying out scientific tasks.

• Completing similar evaluation tasks as human experts for baselining.

• Interacting with Edison’s tools in various capacities.

Note: This is part-time, 1099 contract work, not a full-time position. Compensation is structured per-deliverable rather than hourly, with rates set to average ~$100/hr. Exact pay varies by project and will be shared when each task is assigned.
