About Dimensional

Dimensional is building the foundation for physical intelligence in general-purpose robotics. We develop a unified framework that enables robots to perceive, reason, learn, and act across diverse real-world environments and embodiments. Dimensional’s mission is to make physical intelligence programmable, scalable, and accessible -- accelerating the development of generalist robots that can adapt, learn, and perform reliably in the real world.

Our platform sits between robot hardware and AI models, providing a modular, composable architecture for training and deploying robotic intelligence at scale. By abstracting hardware differences and standardizing core capabilities—such as perception, spatial understanding, decision-making, and control—Dimensional allows developers and partners to build, transfer, and operate robotic skills efficiently across platforms.

About This Role

This role is for an experienced software engineer who thrives in large, complex codebases and cares deeply about engineering quality. You’ll be building the foundational software and infrastructure that everything else depends on. This is not a “vibe coding” role — we’re looking for someone who has spent years shipping and maintaining real systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain core software and infrastructure systems.

  • Work within and continuously improve a large, evolving production codebase.

  • Establish and uphold engineering standards and best practices.

  • Collaborate closely with robotics, agents, and deployment teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions that enable scalability, reliability, and long-term company growth.

What We Look For

  • Senior to staff-level experience in software engineering roles.

  • Deep experience designing, maintaining, and evolving large-scale production codebases.

  • Strong systems thinking, with a demonstrated focus on code quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

  • Prior contributions to open-source projects or other publicly visible technical work.

  • Comfort owning ambiguous, high-impact technical problems and driving them to resolution with minimal direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of professional experience in software engineering roles.

  • Experience working across infrastructure, backend systems, and/or developer platform environments.

  • Demonstrated record of substantial open-source contributions.

  • Professional background comparable to senior engineers at infrastructure-driven technology companies.
