More than 40% of payments are still made with paper checks resulting in poor customer experience and expensive and operationally intensive commercial workflow. Today's solutions were built 40 years ago for pen and paper insurance sales. Ascend is the first modern payments platform for insurance helping to enable the industry's rapid digitalization.

  • Acquired over 2,000 customers, including several of the top 25 largest insurance distributors nationally (Acrisure, Insurica, NFP, etc.) as well as leading Inusrtechs (Vouch, Embroker, Founder Shield).

  • Built a world-class team of 30 based out of our San Francisco, CA, and Columbus, OH offices.

How we do it

Ascend automates insurance payments end-to-end — from online customer payments and financing to the distribution of commissions and carrier payables — so that insurance distributors can eliminate laborious, expensive processes while giving their customers the great online checkout and financing experience they've come to expect. Think Stripe + Affirm + Modern Treasury for insurance.

Your role

We are currently seeking a hands-on and results-driven Account Executive - Mid Market to join our team to focus on acquiring new small to mid-size customers. Your role will be to lead sales processes end-to-end to drive customer acquisition and meet quota requirements. This position will play a critical role in Ascend’s growth by tangibly contributing to revenue in a fast growing segment. This role reports to Head of Sales.

Responsibilities will include

  • Acquire new customers to hit monthly, quarterly and annaul revenue targets and related KPI goals.
  • Work closely with other go to market teams (customer success, support, operations, etc) to ensure an effective and efficient onboarding of new customers.
  • Work closely with the product and engineering team to improve the product feedback based on customer learnings and needs.

You might be a good fit if you have

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in selling products into the commercial, mid-market segment. SaaS selling experience is a plus but not required.
  • Outcome-Oriented: A track record of consistently delivering measurable results and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Velocity-Minded: A mindset that values speed with focus, adaptability, and startup scrappiness
  • Customer Focused: Ability to deeply understand, relate to, and connect with our customer base. Insurance is a main-street America business where relationships matter.
  • Financial Services Background: Familiarity with financial services, especially in the context of insurance, is helpful.
