Full Stack Engineer - Frontend Focused

It’s time that payments work for merchants, not the other way around. Ansa is building a branded wallet solution to increase customer retention and unlock new growth opportunities.
Our best-in-class closed-loop-wallet as a service enables payment experiences akin to the Starbucks balance, the Clipper card, Steam Wallet, and Uber Cash.
With Ansa, our merchant partners have increased revenue over 25% and seen over 50% higher customer retention. We are convinced that we are the last piece of the puzzle in driving delightful loyalty experiences with our slick payments product.
Engineers on our team work on new product initiatives and help scale our payment infrastructure to millions of processed $ volume. You’ll work closely with our existing customers and cross functionally with our product designer and go-to-market roles. We are post revenue and are excited to rapidly grow this year. From building out our in-store payment offering, growing our developer platform, to spearheading our robust analytics and reporting products, there’s a ton of exciting work to take on!

What will you be doing?

Rapidly and consistently deliver web experiences to our customers that are delightful, of remarkable quality, and which have substantial business impact.
Implement merchant facing dashboards and data visualizations.
Build tools that streamline our operations teams, enabling us to provide first-class customer support.
Ship experiences to help onboard customers and build a world class developer experience, enabling us to onboard customers seamlessly.
Own the full development lifecycle of our frontend architecture.
Work closely with design to create pixel-perfect applications.
Build functional, aesthetic, and modular UI components for the foundation of our web products.
Prototype new ideas and iterate towards the ideal user experience.
Manage scope, timeline, and budget to support the mission of the team.
You’ll be working primarily in React, Typescript, Next.js, and Vercel with a Golang + OpenAPI backend.

About you

Ideally 4+ years of experience building performant, complex web applications.
Significant experience working with Typescript and React.
Based in the SF Bay Area (or willing to relocate!) and excited about working closely in-person with a tight-knit team.
Previous experience working closely with designers, building flexible, composable libraries and components.
Have a strong attention to detail.
A customer-first mindset and an interest in talking with customers to make sure what we’re building is a polished product meets their needs.
Innately curious, love working in fast-paced, lean environments.
A record of identifying valuable projects, communicating the strategy for them, and executing on them autonomously.
Appreciates and looks for elegant solutions but understands trade-offs of robust designs/engineering vs. moving fast.
Bonus points if you have experience in mentoring other team members.

Nice to Haves

Operated at an early stage or growth stage startup before.
Passionate about payments and/or fintech.
Familiarity with Next.js and Vercel.

Our culture

We’re taking an intentional approach to how we grow the team. You’ll be an integral part not just of building the product but also the team ethos. Here’s what matters to us:
Bias to action, momentum is everything.
Getting it right is better than being right - we win as a team.
We collaborate efficiently.
Have an eternal learner’s mindset.
Be an owner.
Enjoy the journey and be good to each other.
We have an office in the Mission - we aim to work mostly in person but are flexible with hybrid work. We care deeply about making the office a fun and safe space to collaborate as a team and grow our team culture and identity.
Half the fun of this stage of building is the camaraderie, standing around a whiteboard, and codifying the culture together. We’re close to a lot of great food options and love trying new places as a team (Flour + water, bon nene, tartine, etc.)
